TIPRAT TOPNOTCH!
Our very own Luke Heggie is back performing at this year’s Brisbane Comedy Festival with his latest show ‘Tiprat’ asking for ‘no lowbreeds please’. His trademark sarcasm and deadpan style are prevalent while he dissects Aussie idiot culture, himself included.
For those of you who are not familiar with Heggie (and you are fast becoming a minority as his popularity grows) his typical Aussie bloke persona observations are totally relatable, endearing and have earned him numerous awards over the years, including the Comics Choice award at the 2017 Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Highlights include sending up his local wellness centre, perverts, his grandfather’s funeral and a very intricate seven-part dick joke. He ends strumming his mandolin with one-liner insights and a Dolly Parton cover (as you do!).
There is not much sensitivity here but that’s what you’d expect from a Heggie performance. Laughs abound in this satirical take on Aussie life.
There are only two remaining shows for ‘Tiprat’ showing at the Brisbane Powerhouse as part of the 2018 Brisbane Comedy Festival, Saturday 3rd March 8.45pm and Sunday 4th March 7.45pm.
