CHATTER WITH NOVICH MATTERS

Spencer Novich’s debut of Chatter at West End Electric proved that true artistry can be equal parts hilarious, vulnerable, and unforgettable. In this solo work, Novich shows himself to be not only a master of physical theatre and clowning but also a brave storyteller who lays bare the constant inner chatter that shapes his life.
Far from a standard one-person show, Chatter is a bold collision of comedy, pathos, and theatrical ingenuity. It’s zany, heartfelt, and utterly original. The inventive use of sound, moments of pure physical zaniness, and a fearless willingness to play with audience interaction made the performance feel alive and impossible to predict. Novich’s ability to shift from laugh-out-loud absurdity to disarming honesty created a show that lingers long after the applause has faded. He is a true master of his art, and it is possibly the best solo act in existence.
This is theatre that matters: it’s inventive, hilarious, deeply human, and bursting with originality. Chatter deserves to be seen on the world stage and has all the hallmarks of a show that could—and should—tour every major festival.
Chatter by Strut & Fret is showing at West End Electric for the Brisbane Festival from 23–27 September 2025.
