After starting a career in law, James Smith segued into comedy and has never looked back. Appearing in a plethora of television shows, both in Australia and the United States, Smith embarked his six-city Australia and New Zealand 2018 comedy festival run this weekend.

Like a good lawyer who uses previous winning arguments to conquer the next case, Smith rehashed old routines into sixty minutes for his only show at the 2018 Brisbane Comedy Festival on Friday night.

Describing himself as lazy, Smith’s laid-back stage demeanour backed up his claims. Only working one hour a day, he spends the other 23 hours dreading that one hour: “I’m thiiiiis close (to not working at all)”.
