COVETING KAYE’S CABARET

Reuben Kaye with feather boa

Leave your inhibitions at the door! Saucy, filthy and wonderfully inappropriate, Reuben Kaye delights the audiences with risqué acts and bountiful personality in his new cabaret show at Melt: Festival of Queer Arts and Culture.

Keeping the audiences on their feet, Kaye’s exuberant energy seems endless as he leaps in high-heel platform shoes, making fashionistas jealous.

Reuben’s burlesque centres around sex – more specifically, how funny it can be. No one was safe as he worked his way through the audience, looking for the next lucky participant in his crowd-pleaser show. But the excitement rippled through the tables like the lights over the sequins on his many jackets.

“I am not here to please crowds. I’m here for artistic integrity.”

We don’t believe that for a second! The audiences, exhausted from continuous laughter and cheers, gasped as this giant personality continued to dazzle until the final moments of the show. Incorporating some serious issues into a sparkling cabaret, Reuben Kaye does not apologise, but leaves everything onstage.
