HIGHGATE HILL THRILLS!
Brisbane singer-songwriter and owner of Time Off magazine Sean Sennett premiered his show I Left My Heart in Highgate Hill at the Wonderland Festival, Brisbane Powerhouse last night.
Sennett collaborated with eight local female singers to showcase his songs of love, which are all linked to Brisbane in some way. There were references to the 1974 Flood, The Big Day Out, West End cafes and, of course, Highgate Hill.
His eclectic posse of songs were wonderfully performed by songstresses Jackie Marshall, Deb Suckling, Sue Ray, Charlotte Emily, Shelley Evans, Lucinda Shaw, Megan Cooper and Lauren Jackson.
Each singer voiced their unique interpretations and personality to Sennett’s original compositions reminiscent of Paul Kelly and Darren Hanlon. Sennett and his band were flawless.
A great night out of local tunes and talent. Some of the songs from the show are available to listen to and purchase at seansennett.bandcamp.com.
